Blepharoplasty (Eyes)

Blepharoplasty is an eyelid surgery which is divided into two categories consisting of the upper and lower eyelid. Together, these procedures remove the excess fat and skin from both the upper and lower lids. The results create a younger appearance and tighter eye area due to reduced wrinkling.

During consultation, it will be determined whether any additional surgery will complement the success of the surgery. For example, a simultaneous forehead lift or brow lift may help correct a drooping brow and smooth the forehead followed by a chemical peel to remove deeper lines and crows feet.

The surgery can be done in the office and requires little to no down time. Sutures are removed in three to five days. The procedure takes about 2 hours with in office local sedation.

Non-surgical blepharoplasty includes using fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm, which are also done in our office.

During Surgery
The incision lines for eyelid surgery are designed for scars to be well concealed within the natural structures of the eyelid region. Depending on the scope of the procedure, the surgery takes one to three hours with minimal down time afterwards.

After Surgery:
A certain degree of swelling and bruising is normal. Cold eye gels are used immediately the day after surgery to reduce swelling. For one week after surgery, the eyes may feel sticky, dry, and itchy. Eye drops are recommended and sterile ointment is prescribed to keep the eye area clean. Sutures are removed within three to five days after surgery, and self absorbing stitches will dissolve on their own.

The results are dramatically visible since the eye area becomes youthful and rejuvenated. Dr.Yeung has a wide degree of experience with all ethnicities and ages and can create any look desired.
